Forgotten Suns in Vizela, 11th August 22:00!!!

Hi, today I've gave the final touch on the guitar recordings and as soon as we made it I've received a phone call from Mr.Carlos Tavares...
Unfortunately the band Mostly Autumn couldn't pick their flight due to terrorism activities in London, so we were invited to replace them.
It's a shame for Mostly Autumn and for their portuguese fans, we feel somehow bad about them and the whole situation!

So, don't forget to come to Multiusos in Vizela tomorrow for a great show!

Still editing

We started the afternoon by checking the splashes for Flashback and then went for Outside In(side) track. Lot's of work but sounds awesome, don't let the small microphone of my camera ilude you!Here's a moment of the day on video:

Editing

Today we have been all in studio listening to what we've done so far and taking notes of what we think it could be improved.

We still have some production(sampling) working as special fx's, some voices and a very
progressive section on Outside In(side) track
to record.

Then we moved forward and it was day number 1 for editing the drum' sounds. We started on Pinpoints song and it sounds really, really good!
Sam' sound is better than ever.

We got up of our beds early in the morning to get into the studio and I've made a quick video of our day.

Drums and Guitars

Sam recorded again Outside In(side) now with all production moving along and it sounds great indeed.Much better than the first time were there was only a background of guitars.
During the recordings and editing we had great laughs with Mike, there is a great atmosphere sorrounding us these last days; things are improving a lot with the keyboards and the sampling work will make it higher.
I will go to studio tomorrow morning to make some guitar recording and extra details
I promise a video or photo for tomorrow.

Drums

The day was dedicated to record more drums; according to Mike via MSN, our drummer made great performances and songs are improving since the guide lines stage. We're approaching the mixing for this pre-production.

Outside In(side) - the virus

This afternoon Mike, Nuno, Jo and I were at the studio finishing the keyboard recordings for Outside In(side).
Mike had the precious help of the 'stringers' in the band and "who doesn't need another hand to make the job faster?"hehe...it's a private:)

In the end we got the job done; Mike is still on studio working on the samples from movies, we're using some movies to get sounds and extra effects. From what he showed me it will improve a lot the songs, Mike will trigger it all on his Korg Oasys for future live performances.

Tomorrow there will be some overdubs on drums and vocals.

Keyboards

We have been recording keyboards for Outside In(side) track until midnight.
What can I say?It's really sounding huge:)
Mike is doing an excellent job with this track and the solos have pulled the song 2 steps further. Now the vocal 'coda' makes all sense and it's one of the best sections we have ever written. This song will be a f***ing killer live!
